How would you describe your physical and emotional health BEFORE learning the Stop. Dieting. Forever. process?
Veronica Corbin: I think the greatest thing that the Stop. Dieting. Forever. process has given me is emotional awareness and literacy. Prior to the program, I believe I was somewhat aware of my emotions, but since being in the program, I'm able to not only be more aware of my emotions, but also have the words to describe what those emotions are, what those feelings are, and also to notice how they feel in my body. So I think not, I think, but I know that going through this program has helped me with that, and so I'm more apt to stop and notice my emotions because now I'm able to describe what those emotions are.
What result have you gotten from following the process?
Veronica Corbin: Two of the biggest results from being a part of this program is number one emotional awareness and number two having more compassion and giving myself more grace throughout the process. I think before this program, I beat myself up a lot more about when I didn't, you know, meet the marker where I thought I should have been. But I think through this great community, I've learned not only to have compassion on others, but most of all have compassion on myself. And I think in doing that, that kind of leads to more emotional awareness because I want to be aware of power and feeling and giving myself the space and the grades to feel that and to recognize that. And I think that in doing that, I become a safe place for myself and I don't look on the outside for safe places. I can be safe with myself. And I think that that will lead me to my, to my ultimate, to my goal.
Why is this weight loss process different from a diet?
Veronica Corbin: I think that this process program is different from other things I've tried. Number one is because I'm ready. Um and number two, um it's a process that I'm not looking to get to the finish line tomorrow, I know this is a lifetime commitment and it's not a bad thing. I'm changing habits and I'm changing um things about myself that will lead me ultimately to permanent weight loss. And this program is freeing. I mean, I haven't had to give them anything, I haven't had to um deprive myself of anything. I literally go through this process of understanding myself and I think that's one of the main goals of the Stop. Dieting. Forever. process is learning yourself, getting to know yourself. And I think that the weight loss is a byproduct of that through this program. I'm learning more about myself. I mean more aware of myself and I think that is helping me that even when I have those spaces where my weight increase or my weight plateaus, I'm still growing, I'm still learning, I'm still benefiting because again, I'm learning more and more about Veronica.
