How would you describe your physical and emotional health BEFORE learning the Stop. Dieting. Forever. process?

Keri Williams: How was my physical and emotional health before the stop dieting process. So I would say that I'd lost some weight and I wasn't quite at my goal weight yet. And so I still had some weight to go and I was giving myself a really hard time. So, you know, I think, I think I had come some way in, you know, healing my relationship with food and, and with my body as well. But there were unreal, well, maybe I'm not unrealistic but not very kind expectations that I was putting on myself. So I think that's where um Jennifer's help was fantastic because she was able to really help me calm my mind down and see all the mind drama that was being created around that. Um, actually part way through the process of coaching as well. I got pregnant which brought up all the old stuff and loads of new beliefs that I had. Um because it was my first pregnancy. So I was expecting that I was going to put on massive amounts of weight and if my weight was going to go up and I was gonna undo all my progress that I'd had already. So the stop dieting process, um, you know, ironically actually helped me through pregnancy, even though I wasn't dieting, I had to change the way I was eating and I was still able to, to, you know, kind of figure out how to use the same principles even though I was pregnant.

What result have you gotten from following the process?

Keri Williams: So through this process, as I said before, I, I got pregnant part way through. So it was a really different outcome to what I expected. Um because there was no way that I was going to get to my goal away when I was pregnant, of course, and I shouldn't have even been trying for that. But what I found because my goals got adjusted, um you know, when my circumstances changed basically was that I ended up feeling much more calm and peace around food. I felt really self assured in terms of how I needed to change the way I was eating. Um I felt much more relaxed. I, I was feeling quite sick in early pregnancy. I was needing to eat more frequently, like more frequent small meals, which was really different to what I was doing before when I wasn't pregnant. And uh so that I just had a lot more food, peace, a lot more food, calm and I stopped worrying about my weight. I had this obsession with um you know what my, what my top range should have been with my weight because I didn't want to put on excessive weight during pregnancy, um, and, and have any health complications come up and I just calmed down around all of that and it was just so much of a nicer experience being able to do that. So that was really my transformation, I think.

Why is this weight loss process different from a diet?

Keri Williams: So this isn't a diet. This is, uh, a way of life really. It's, it's about stripping away all the limiting beliefs that you have. It's about stripping away all the behaviors you have around food that are no longer serving you. Maybe even things that have served you in the past, you know, maybe old, um, kind of dieting rules, dieting beliefs, um, guiding practices that may have worked really well in your young years. It's, I think it's about stripping that all back and figuring out what works for you now so that you can actually transition into a life, feeling more peace, more ease, but also having health at the top of the mind as well. So, it's not a diet. It's, it's definitely more of a way of life.

Have you stopped dieting FOREVER?

Keri Williams: So, yes, I have stopped dieting forever. Um, and, you know, funnily enough. I, I've gone through pregnancy. Um, you know, I've had some baby weight come on and, you know, my body is different and I feel really at peace with that. And I think without this work, I know that I would have been in a place where I would have felt extremely shamed, extremely uncomfortable, really embarrassed in my body. And I no longer feel that, you know, I'm happy with where I'm at and I know that I'm working towards, you know, creating a new lifestyle now where I, you know, my reality has changed. I'm a new mom. Um, you know, my body is what it is at the moment and I am transitioning into a more healthy, um, kind of frame as well as I'm figuring out life as a new mom. So that's different. That is different because without this work, I think I definitely would have been on a restrictive diet pretty much straight away after I had the baby and it's not been like that at all. There's been so much more peace, so much more acceptance of my body. Um, prioritizing health, prioritizing, you know, foods that really serve me. Um and then, and then also working towards weight loss in, in my own way. So yeah, that has been a real huge shift for me.
