WHAT IS YOUR ORGANIZATION'S UNIQUE STORY, WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT IT?
Tameka Henson : Entrepreneurial Kidz was started during the pandemic and it was just started as a way to get kids to be creative and find out, ways to earn some extra income while we had so much downtime and a good way to keep them busy. I'm super passionate about it because I get to see kids step out of their comfort zones and explore new things. And then when they see that they can actually start a business at a young age, it awakened something in them and I just love to be a part of that.
CAN YOU SPOTLIGHT THE TOP SERVICES AND PRODUCTS YOU OFFER LOCALLY?
Tameka Henson : I am super excited about what we have to offer. We offer a workshop series several times throughout the year. And during the summer we host a summer entrepreneurship boot camp for kids. It's five days of in person entrepreneurship. Learning, we have live Q&A sessions. They write business plans, they get to pitch their business ideas, so much fun, so much to do and so much to learn. It's four weeks, actually we will be in Anne Arundel County, will be in Prince George's County Charles County and Richmond Virginia. I'm super excited about what's coming this summer.
WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS OR PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
Tameka Henson : My business and personal philosophy would be don't feed the fears. I love that because sometimes we give too much energy and effort into the things that we're afraid of, and we allow that to hold us back from being our best selves. So that's my philosophy. Don't feed the fears. Don't give them that energy, put that energy into what you're trying to accomplish and make it happen.
