Lasu: I chose to attend this workshop because [of] healthy assertiveness is very useful. I found it very useful. to my role as a parent, as a husband. But as a social worker. working out there to promote Child protection. Sometimes I find it interesting to play my role as a parent, like I said, as a husband also as a social worker out there. When It becomes necessary that I need to be assertive I learned from the workshop, there are many aspects that I went through where I couldn't be assertive when actually I should have been assertive. But also how I can you know Help my family, my children, and people out there. to also be assertive when actually they need to be assertive. So I reallyfound this very useful and I think. I do not regret why I chose to attend
Key takeaway?
Lasu: There were many takeaways from the workshop really useful takeaways that I recognise. They aligned very very much with the what I wanted to learn. But one most important takeaway was learning the fact that fears grow. as well as bullies grow. I recognise that. My own fears have been growing over the years. and it was only in this workshop. That I stepped back in my mind and say Yes, fears have been growing in me really, to the extent that sometimes. My feelings towards certain aspects of my family life, my work life. have been affected by those feelings as a result of the fears that have been growing in me. I learned a lot from this fact that fears grow and therefore it's time for me to re-evaluate those things that create fear in me. To begin to really come up with actions that I can take to address the fears. I need to stop this fear that is growing in me that impacts on my family and social life. Thank you.
What made this workshop different?
Lasu: This workshop. It was different from from other workshops in many ways. The discussion points about healthy assertiveness. We are practical and they relate to Today to today life. Like I mentioned before, many aspects of the workshop aligned so much to to my life and they're they're really practical. The facilitators were also able to bring into the discussion. You know, examples from different contexts from Africa and elsewhere. That were really unique, in in this aspect. The question and answer session. Was also exhaustive and people were able to ask a question and got Like I mentioned, practical. answers to those questions. All this made really this workshop. To be quite unique and different from other workshops.
