Speaker: Sara

What did life look like before END? What made you decide to work with us?

Sara: Hi, my name is Sara and I'm an executive director for an online nonprofit. Before END, I was really nervous about online dating. I hadn't dated for years and, I was really afraid of going onto the apps. I felt that the men on there were creepy and I use that word literally. and so I decided to work with Lisa because I felt like I really needed help and that she was able to give me that help in terms of working on my mindset, working on what it was that kept me from really finding a partner that was good for me. And I'm only looking for one out of all these and I felt that she had a program that would help me go through the steps that I needed to really get over my fear of online dating.

What are the three biggest benefits from working in END?

Sara: So the first benefit was being given a structure to approach online dating. They helped me put my profile up, they helped me with my pictures, which was really fun, taking professional pictures and it was my first time taking professional pictures, so I really enjoyed it. And then preparing me mentally for for what it would be like to date and how to approach dating. Secondly, there's so many resources, whether the modules or lthe PDFs and accompanying worksheets, that help you really work through your issues, topic by topic. And thirdly, the topics themselves, it seems like Lisa has been doing this for a long time and she knows what people need and their journey to be prepared for finding their guardian of their soul.

What was your biggest breakthrough while in the program?

Sara: My biggest breakthrough was actually going online and being on the apps. I was on three different apps and talking to people and sort of doing it afraid while, and slowly that fear began to chip away and I ended up talking to someone and I'm really interested in. I don't know if he's the guardian of my soul, but, I've decided to listen to Lisa, what she says about enjoying yourself and taking your time and learning from each and every person that you meet online. And whether or not they're actually your person, just finding something to take away from the date, and just enjoying myself. That was my, I think, biggest breakthrough.

What would you tell others who are thinking about joining the program?

Sara: I would tell them that they still have to do the work. It's a great program, it's very well put-together, you got resources. Everyone is accessible by email and you have the two weekly calls to access the coaches and ask your questions and get feedback from other participants as well. But there's a lot of work and you have to be committed to do the work and get over, you know, your fears and challenges to really participate in, get the biggest benefit from the program. And it was, it was challenging. but I enjoyed the challenge. I enjoyed learning a lot about myself and about dating. And I think the program is also generic enough to be suitable for women of different backgrounds. I'm from a minority group and I was looking to only date Muslim men, but I was able to adapt what I learned to my circumstances.
