Hi, everyone. Performance reviews are kind of like adult style report cards. You know, they're coming. And as a student or recent grad who's just starting out, it always feels like a make or break moment. But if you handle yourself well, these meetings could also turn into a breakthrough moment for your career. That's why the job postings do the team put together these three easy steps to help you prepare for your next performance review. The first thing you want to do is make a master list of every task in every project you responsible for in your job. This list can get long. So use the spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel. Then beside each task or project list, the goal set for them and in another call, keep track of your results on a weekly or monthly basis. Keeping up this ongoing list will make it way easier to quantify your performance and your successes. When the dreaded performance review comes due, this list is a great way to keep you focused at work. Next, it's important to strive for a personal standard, not perfection. This is a mindset. You need to understand and communicate in your performance review. For example, if you mess up at work, the best thing to do is to own up to it and demonstrate what you had learned from the experience and how you'll improve. Moving forward. Next, using the list you created in step one and the list of learnings you put together in step two now is the time to get specific about your goals for the next year. When speaking with your manager, start off by highlighting your wins by using great examples in different scenarios. Go through your list of tasks and projects and highlight where you met or exceeded company goals or standards. Then present your vision for how you'd like to see your grow within the company by outlining how you plan to improve your performance at your role. What skills you'd like to learn and projects you'd like to take on in the following year all in all. If you can follow these steps, then you're bound to crush it at your next performance review.
