Please share your name, school, and what you’re studying.
Amber See: My name is Amber See, and I'm a student at Case Western Reserve University majoring in communication sciences and psychology.
How has the IMPACT Program and your involvement benefited you?
Amber See: There are so many great things about the IMPACT program. But one thing that I really enjoy is the amount of support and mentorship we get as part of the program. We have research mentors, affinity mentors, academic mentors, and writing coaches who are all there to support us as we work towards our goals.
How has your LaCalle Group writing coach helped you?
Amber See: She really took her time to get to know me and build a relationship with me. And then, whenever I needed her for something related to my personal statement, she was always there, ready to give me good constructive feedback. Beyond that, she even created a spreadsheet for me with all of the schools I was applying to, comparing location, cost of attendance, scholarships, research opportunities, and even more. And that was extremely helpful. She also gave me a lot of good feedback on my resume and just, overall, made my graduate school application process so much easier.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with the writing coach team?
Amber See: Writing for your graduate school admission can be really stressful. It feels like your entire admissions decision is going to boil down to what you put into this one-page personal statement. It really helped take some stress out of the situation and make me more confident as I was creating my graduate school admissions portfolio.
