Please tell us about your experience with Laborie, and how the specific service or product has benefited you?
Tori O'Daniel: I have been working with Laborie for the past five or six years and I have come to find that using the ABBy has been really beneficial for my patients. So the last year is when we have been using the ABBy, we launched it last March and I recently found um an opportunity to use it on a patient of mine who came in the OB emergency room and she was about seven or eight days postpartum and she was having some issues with her incision and she wasn't really allowed or allowing the incision to breathe and get air. And so I was able to clean her incision and then lift up her pannus from her incision with using the ABBy and providing it that environment that really needed that air to allow that incision to heal.
How does Laborie’s product or service compare to alternative solutions?
Tori O'Daniel: I really love using the ABBy device because I think it provides two opportunities for benefit for my patients. So currently we're using an abdominal binder on my post op C section patients, which helps provide compression and some relief for our patients. And the great thing about ABBy is that it lifts the pannus off of that incision to provide that compression in a more appropriate way. So I'm lifting that redundant tissue off of that incision, allowing the air to get to it. So it has the best environment for it to heal and providing that compression and providing some relief for them. In addition to that allowing the environment with the air to get to that incision.
Would you recommend the product to a friend/colleague? Why?
Tori O'Daniel: I'm Doctor Tori O'Daniel and I definitely recommend the ABBy device. I recommend it to my colleagues and I recommend it to my patients very frequently. I'm recommending it daily as I work as an OB hospitalist because I have patients who are benefiting from the use of ABBy. We're able to elevate their pannus off of their incision, providing it the best environment to heal and they're providing that stability and compression, keeping their pannus off of their incision. As a physician who rounds on patients every single day that we're working, this helps me assess and make sure that the incision is doing well because the pannus is off of that incision. So I cannot recommend this device enough.
Any other comments you'd like to add?
Tori O'Daniel: I really just can't say enough about using this product. I have seen with my own experience on multiple occasions that this works for patients. It helps lift the pannus off of that incision. It helps provide that compression and stability that they're looking for and really gives my patients the ability to be autonomous in helping their care and their postpartum. I have used this in different environments immediately in the or after a surgery, a couple hours after the surgery where I can really help educate how well this works or in the OB emergency department where I've seen somebody who didn't have an ABBy and then I placed an ABBy and they were able to really help care for their incision and provide the best environment for it to heal. So I just can't say enough.
