Hi, my name is Brett Hampton. Um, I'm 40 years old and I'm from Orlando, Florida. So, um, like some people I did procrastinate, uh, when I first started noticing um some of the issues going to the restroom. I didn't really do much about it at the time because we were expecting our first child, um, so I kind of delayed it, put it off, said it wasn't a big deal, didn't really pay too much attention to it. I ended up getting lined up with Doctor Wigan's office and it was a great experience. I expressed my. Um, symptoms of going to the bathroom roughly 20 to 25 times a day, um, it was, um, um, painful, uncomfortable. I, I actually stopped drinking as much fluid because, and that was not a good thing, um, I ended up being concerned that if I drank more fluid that it would be. Worse, um, but that actually didn't really help, um, even if I would feel like I was relieving myself 10 minutes later it felt like I haven't gone to the bathroom in, you know, 2 hours. Um, I would wake up 4 or 5 times a night, um, when I was in bed. If I had to go to the bathroom and I knew I was gonna have to go, I would always make sure that there was a bathroom nearby I was building my entire life around this, but when you have one young child and one along the way, it turns into a, a big process on its own, and I was putting myself on the back burner and I should not have ever let it get to that point. I originally knew about it when I had made my first appointments with AdventHealth. There was discussions about um the optimum um balloon procedure. I was very optimistic about it. I definitely was interested in it. um, I definitely wanted to do it. um, I wasn't. Obviously you're a little bit nervous about anything um when it comes to anatomy um when it's related to surgery but I was definitely interested in it and I did want to have the procedure done. The very 1st 24 hours, um, I felt a noticeable difference and I was concerned a little bit that there might be some pain um after the surgery, but to be honest with you, the entire experience within that 1st 24 hours was so much more comfortable, so much more easy right from the first day I felt. Completely changed. I sleep through the night. I have much more energy because I, I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore, so a full night's sleep is, is important, and I'm finally getting that now. The pain and the uncomfortable feeling that I've had for all those years had just gone away and it felt like everything that Doctor Wigan had explained to me happened the way it was supposed to, um. I didn't feel any discomfort from the first time I urinated. Ever since then it's just been a very fluid experience. In fact, when I had my first appointment to come back to do a follow up, I was like I don't know what we're gonna talk about because everything's great and I don't know why I delayed as much as I did, but if I was to talk to somebody that was on the fence, I would say get all the information. Um, and trust your doctor and know that this procedure is not as scary or uncomfortable as you might think that it is. I don't have to think about where's the closest bathroom, am I gonna go to a restaurant with my family and try to make sure that I'm at a table near the restroom, um, a road trip, something simple like a road trip. Um, where's the next exit to go to the bathroom at? Um, where's a clean bathroom facility? I don't think about that stuff anymore. Um, it's not, it's not on the forefront of my mind, you know, we would decide where to go to eat or where to go on trips or what to do based around my concerns and the fact that I don't have to do that anymore we don't talk about that stuff it's almost kind of laughable to my wife and I now that. We essentially both waited longer than we we should have and we should have just went ahead and and taken care of it immediately. I definitely wish that I met Doctor Wigan when I first discussed this because then it would have, it would have been taken care of many years ago, but I am very happy that it happened and I'm on the other side of it.
