Speaker: Michael Moody
How did you find your way to your current role at K12 Coalition?
My name is Michael Moody. I'm the Chief Strategy Officer for the K 12 Coalition. And the way I found my way into the organization was through inside education group. I'm one of the co-founders of insight and I've been doing this work in schools and districts my entire career. So the opportunity to join a large organization that could support the entire life cycle of a teacher was quite exciting.
Why are core values important to your work at K12 Coalition?
The core values are important to our organization because there are guiding principles that help us understand who we want to be. What our organization aspires to be. Not just as an organization, but as individuals within the organization. It's part of my work and our work collectively because they help guide decision making will help us understand where we want to dig in how we want to ground our decisions. And they really give us those guiding principles for all decision making, but also engagement with each other. I'm excited about the core values. I think they really give us purpose and they remind us who we are.
What stands out to you about the culture at K12 Coalition?
What always stands out to me about our core values is how they show up in my interactions with colleagues in conversations and meetings and especially in the work we do. I'm struck by how committed people are to succeeding together. The fact that we really are focused now on advancing equity and all we do both internally and externally. Um The commitment to being lifelong learners and creating a positive culture. It's nice to be working with individuals who really focus on this work um And making sure the core values come to life um when we interact with each other, but especially as we're client facing too and thinking about how are we being perceived by the field and those we support these core values really show up day in and day out. And that's what's exciting to me about them is they continue to evolve, but they ground our work and anchor our conversations in ways that help us build upon them, identify those areas where self growth. Um But then really dig in to make sure we live out that last core value which is succeeding together. It's positive, it feels good. It's, it's nice to work with people who are committed to the work.
