Why do you love helping customers on JustAnswer?
FrankW714: I'm a retired master electrician. I like helping customers on JustAnswer because it keeps me involved in an industry that I truly enjoy. I no longer work with the tools as we say. So this platform allows me to provide assistance remotely. It's also very satisfying when you can help someone solve an issue that may be, for me, seems pretty simple.
What types of questions do you get on JustAnswer?
FrankW714: My particular specialty is residential wiring. So the questions I see are primarily homeowner issues. Everything from troubleshooting outages, lights or outlets that don't work. Installing new switches, light fixtures, appliances. I also see a lot of questions that relate to new construction and renovations, service upgrades, questions about the electrical code. I particularly like those.
What’s your most memorable or heartwarming story with a customer?
FrankW714: When I first started doing this a few years ago, I had an exchange with a gentleman. He was trying to get a control for a ceiling fan and light. In addition to the wall switch that was at the entry to the room. He wanted to know if we could get something next to the bed. I said, sure, and we figured out a way for him to do that. After completing the project, he went out of his way to come back to thank me. It seems his wife was towards the end of her struggle with terminal cancer. So just being able to control that fan from the bed meant the world to both of them.
