Why do you love helping customers on JustAnswer?
ChrisB1204: I love having the opportunity to help people because they can't always get a hold of their vets during normal office hours and then sometimes things happen after office hours are done. So it's a great opportunity to be able to tell people... No, that's nothing that we need to worry about right now or, yeah, you definitely made the right choice and we need to get your pet to an emergency clinic. So just helping people when they can't get help otherwise is just a great sense of satisfaction.
What types of questions do you get on JustAnswer?
ChrisB1204: Well, as a veterinarian dealing with all sorts of animals, we get just about every question in the books. Very commonly though it seems to be my dog ate something that's chocolate or got into this kind of poison or this type of chemical. Do I need to worry about that? A lot of times it's symptoms that have been going on, breathing funny or limping and really a question about, is this something that can wait for a day or two until I can get into my regular vet or do I need to go to the emergency clinic right away? So, a lot of it is triaging a situation, seeing if it's something that really needs to be seen immediately, or sometimes just saying, hey, no, it's really not that big of a deal. Watch for this and that symptom and we should be just fine.
What’s your most memorable or heartwarming story with a customer?
ChrisB1204: Well, the recent situation involved someone who had found a turtle in their yard and apparently their younger child had become attached to it. And so they were a little bit worried about crack in the shell and I could actually hear them on the phone with their child while they were talking to me and turns out it wasn't anything that was a really big deal. I gave them a care sheet, was able to send them a link for that on how to care for that kind of turtle. But I just remember the child being very thankful the mother being very wonderful and actually got to help them out in a situation that really they may not have gotten some help otherwise.
