Speaker: Cat Martin, Junior Web Developer
Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your role at Venntro.
Cat Martin: Hi, my name is Catherine, and I'm a Junior Web Developer here at Venntro Media Group. As a Junior Web Dev, my job is to ensure our sites are running smoothly, assisting our senior developers with anything they may need, and continuing to learn more about front end and back end development as I go.
What's your favourite part about being in this role?
Cat Martin: I would have to say my favourite part about my role is the challenges that I face - because as a junior developer, I still have a lot to learn. So that means a bit of trial and error sometimes, until it's correct. I think it's important to have friendly and patient colleagues at times like this - and I'm very, very thankful for the guys on our team who always take the time to help me when I'm stuck on anything or who go out of their way to further explain a solution for me.
Is there anything in particular that stands out to you about Venntro's culture?
Cat Martin: I think it's the importance of a healthy work life balance and that's what makes Venntro's culture stand out from others. I never get the feeling that I'm living just to work. And the fact that I can work wherever I'm most comfortable has been such a positive feeling that I know a lot of people don't get elsewhere. I think it's great that we also try our best to have in-person get togethers throughout the entire company, and it's just so nice to get to know everyone outside of work and have face-to-face interaction with them, instead of just constantly through a computer screen.
