Speaker: Danny and Mindi Colon

What's your name and where do you live?

Danny and Mindi Colon: Hi, we're Danny and Mindy Coon and we live in Plainfield, Illinois.

What motivated you to seek the Marriage Mentor training?

Danny and Mindi Colon: We had had several people we know going through difficult marriage situations and we're trying to help them the best that we could when we heard about Jill and Mark doing this marriage cohort. And we just thought this was the kind of training we needed to be better equipped to help them.

What changed after you did the Marriage Mentor training?

Danny and Mindi Colon: So what changed after the marriage mentoring is we were able to use tools to help strengthen our marriage as well as be better listeners and encourager of other couples. Yeah, I agree. And I think that we just became so much more informed in our listening to one another, but also in other conversations, just, you know, what is contributing to the messages, what messages are contributing to the actions. And just, I think for us, it was surprising what a blessing this marriage cohort was to our marriage and that's not necessarily what we went into the cohort seeking and it was such a blessing and we saw so much growth in our relationship.

Can you share one specific result you’ve had from the Marriage Mentor training?

Danny and Mindi Colon: We are excited to see how God is going to use this training in our marriage and in our opportunities to help other people, whether that's hosting a perfect marriage Bible study or helping people who come across our path. We don't know, but we're really excited what God has for us after taking this class.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about signing up for the Marriage Mentor training but is on the fence right now?

Danny and Mindi Colon: So if you're thinking about signing up for the marriage mentor training, but you're on the fence, I would say just do it, you won't regret it and you can always build your own marriage stronger by taking it. I agree, just do it. The time commitment was a blessing that we had that time carved out to spend and be intentional with each other as well as learning and growing uh the relationships we made with some of the um you know, fellow attendees were great and, you know, we just look forward to seeing how God is going to continue to use this. And so it was well worth the investment and I strongly encourage you to do it.
