What is your name and where do you live?
Joy Chang: I'm Joy Chang and I live in Short Hills, New Jersey.
What was the most memorable moment of the trip, and how did it impact your perspective on J.Hilburn?
Joy Chang: I would say the most memorable moment of the trip, hands down, was our factory visit in Thailand. Just meeting the workers and seeing like how much pride they have and what they do. And they showed us so much respect and admiration, which I thought was amazing. It's like they they really understood that we as stylists are the ones responsible for selling and putting in the orders. And because we work so hard to sell and put in these orders, they then have a job and can make these beautiful garments. And they take so much pride in what they do, and it really, really showed. And it was kind of neat because they showed us so much respect and admiration, but meanwhile, we as the stylists thought they were amazing. And it was just a lot of mutual respect between the stylists and the factory workers. And I think one thing, it was just really neat for us as the stylists to almost see like behind the scenes. We work hard in front of the clients to sell, and then we put in these orders, but you don't really see what happens after that. Like 3 or 4 weeks later, these beautiful garments come back to our doorstep and you, don't see any of that behind the scenes. So getting a glimpse of seeing that behind the scenes and seeing how much pride and hard work goes into making those beautiful garments that then come back to us, like it was neat to see it full circle. Like we can't do our jobs well without the factory workers making these beautiful garments, and they can't make these beautiful garments without us working to sell and put in the order. So it was really neat to see that full circle.
