Speaker: Meghan Dean , Physical Therapist
Meghan Dean : Hi, I'm Meghan. I'm originally from Annapolis, Maryland, but right now I live in Arlington, Virginia and I'm gonna be starting Pelvic Health residency program in January.
Where did you go to school, and how long have you been with Ivy? We'd love to hear what initially brought you to join the Ivy team!
Meghan Dean : I went to undergrad at Washington College on the eastern shore of Maryland. And then I went to physical therapy school at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. I've only been with Ivy about 2 to 3 months now and loving it. I originally came to Ivy because I loved the patient care model that they were kind of bringing to the table. I also loved how many opportunities there were to grow within the company and how many opportunities the company provided you to grow as a clinician, in the skill set, whether it be with residency or other programs that they had, that really appealed to me. That's kind of why I joined Ivy.
What are you most excited about as you begin this residency program? What do you hope to accomplish during your time here?
Meghan Dean : So I'm most excited about the residency is being able to grow my skill set and my clinical reasoning for the pelvic health population. And this is just because I wanna be able to better serve my patients that do see me. What I hope to accomplish during residency is I want to be able to treat a wider variety of people with pelvic health issues. So that way I can kind of grow and help more people and more patients who have these issues. Additionally, I kind of want to grow my network of pelvic health PT. to grow my network of pelvic health PT. So that way, even when residency is over, I can have some people that can bounce out ideas off and continue to grow and learn from my fellow peers. And in hopes that I could also provide that for them in the future as well. And then lastly, I of course, will love to pass my boards in order to get my pelvic rehab practitioner certification and be officially specialized in pelvic floor rehabilitation.
