Speaker: Kaylee Nichols, Pediatric Occupational Therapist, OTD, OTR/L
Kaylee Nichols: Hello, my name is Kaylee. I'm from Chesapeake, Virginia and I will be starting with the occupational therapy, pediatric residency program.
Where did you go to school, and how long have you been with Ivy? We'd love to hear what initially brought you to join the Ivy team!
Kaylee Nichols: So I went to undergrad at the University of Virginia and majored in psychology and then got my doctorate in occupational therapy at Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences, which is at Mary Baldwin University. I had heard really great things about Ivy. I interviewed multiple places and just, it seemed like a really good fit here. People were very helpful and the mentorship they offered I felt was unmatched as compared to other places I interviewed at and I've been with Ivy since August of 2023.
What are you most excited about as you begin this residency program? What do you hope to accomplish during your time here?
Kaylee Nichols: I am excited about all the courses offered in the program. I'm looking forward to taking the DIR course and then Kelly Mahler's interoception course. I'm looking forward to the ability to collaborate with others both within and across disciplines and be able to brainstorm different cases and case studies with everyone. With this program, I hope to just become a more well rounded clinician and improve in both clinical and soft skills to better support and meet the needs of my patients and their families.
