Speaker: Alexandria Kozich, Pediatric Physical Therapist
Alexandria Kozich: Hi, my name is Alex Kozich and I am originally from the Cleveland area, but I'm currently working at the Ivy Rehab for kids Clinic in Tecumseh, Michigan as a pediatric physical therapist. And I'm very excited for this upcoming year to be starting in the pediatric physical therapy residency program at Ivy Rehab.
Where did you go to school, and how long have you been with Ivy? We'd love to hear what initially brought you to join the Ivy team!
Alexandria Kozich: So I went to PT school at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. And it was actually, while I was a student there that I met some people from Ivy Rehab. So as a student, I was able to attend the combined sections meeting or the National PT conference. And while I was there, I was actually able to stop by an Ivy Rehab booth where I met some people in the pediatrics team. And then I was able to interview with them and kind of get started with that process while I was still a student, which was very great for me at that time. I was able to work with them knowing that I was relocating to the Ann Arbor area after graduation. And so we were able to find a clinic with openings that worked for like my situation and Ivy's situation. So that led me to starting at the Tecumseh clinic with Ivy Rehab back in July. So I've been working here for about 4 to 5 months now. And I knew that when I was doing the interview with Ivy Rehab, that the offer of great mentorship and continuing education and opportunities for things like this residency program were going to be a great way to kind of kick start my career and really become the best clinician that I could be. So that's really what initially brought me to join the Ivy team. And I've been happy with that decision since I started here in July.
What are you most excited about as you begin this residency program? What do you hope to accomplish during your time here?
Alexandria Kozich: I think the thing that I'm most excited about as I begin, this residency program is truly just the opportunity to continue to learn and all of the great learning opportunities that we'll have throughout this year. I think that's one of the things I'm most passionate about is that continued learning and it's really becoming the best clinician that I can be. And so I'm really excited to use all of this further education to really become the best pediatric physical therapist I can. And during that year, as a resident, I hope to kind of accomplish on a similar note, just taking advantage of all the opportunities that I'm given as a resident, but also as a clinician. And then as my, as my career continues at Ivy Rehab, I'm really hoping to continue to develop that personal and professional growth, whether that would be in a leadership position, such as a clinic director role or even moving further on in the company, or even if it's just as a pediatric physical therapist, I just really hope to grow my leadership skills, grow my personal and professional development skills and grow as much as I can while I'm here.
