Austin Bronson: Austin Bronson, I'm the regional director in Connecticut.
What do you love about working at Ivy?
Austin Bronson: From day one when I came out as a student, I saw the tagline of "It's all about the people," and that's just what I've seen kind of shine through time and time again whether it be working with our patients and how we center our model of care around ensuring they get what they need, or reflecting on our employees and what we give them, and making sure they have the time to both provide the patients what they need while finding that balance at home and balance in their lives, to ensure they can take care of the people that are important to them as well.
How has your growth and career journey been?
Austin Bronson: Yeah, so 2016, 2018 staff PT and then had the opportunity to open up a Denovo in 2021. Went through that. It was awesome. Yeah, I was able to get closer to home and serve the community that I grew up in, and then stayed there, wrote that clinic up for three years, moved into the area director role early in 2024 and then had the opportunity to become the regional director and really take on Connecticut who. I'm just really proud. It's, it's come from 3 clinics when I was a student to now 16. So it's just, it's a real pride point for me to now be able to lead that group that I've seen grow. I would say that you're one of the
Do you have any advice for future Physical Therapists?
Austin Bronson: Don't be afraid to ask the, the, the awkward questions or challenge your leaders because I find that when I get challenged by my therapists or my clinic directors, that's where I grow and where I think the whole, the whole community and the whole region grows, and to Ivy's credit, they're not satisfied with the norm. They're willing to take those challenges and take those questions and see how they can get better. So yeah, don't be afraid to ask the question because a lot of times our best ideas come from those that aren't necessarily in that leadership seat, but are aspiring to be leaders and have the skills to be.
What do you think makes Ivy stand out?
Austin Bronson: Ivy stand out? I think it's, so me personally, I mean, the people, the growth trajectory, the kind of wraps into the first two questions that I think just taking, not being afraid of the unknown and being afraid to challenge, challenge the current market, and allow growth. That, as long as individuals show that they are willing to put the work in and put the thought in, you got a whole bunch of people behind you that are just looking to find that platform for, for individuals to thrive on.
How do you like to shine on clinical excellence?
Austin Bronson: I love our residency programs again, seeing the growth of Ivy, the way we built these residency programs now, I'm proud to say I'm a mentor in the orthopedic residency program, and I've worked with two cohorts of mentees at this point, and it's just the, the give back portion of it. We, there's been so much given to me to allow me to be where I'm at today, and I just look forward every day to giving that back to my clinic directors, my mentees, the staff, the therapists we have on board and our support services across the, across the region.
What is your favorite part of the mentorship program?
Austin Bronson: The moldability and their willingness to listen, the willingness to learn, but at the same time, they go to these weekend intensives and come back and we often spend time with them teaching me things because our, our profession is constantly changing. And if we're staying stagnant, we're not keeping our minds open, then we're falling behind. So that's where I feel like it's in a way it's a give back to me that these students can come back and bring me the newest research, the newest techniques on a silver platter that they just learned and are passionate about from the past weekend.
