Shannon Havey: Hi, my name is Shannon Hay. I live in Houston, Texas. And my current job is in marketing.
Why do you want to become a teacher?
Shannon Havey: From a young age. I've always been passionate about learning and education. I've had so many teachers throughout my life who have instilled a love for learning and just inspired me. Um I want to become that person and I want to help future generations by showing them that they're capable if they set their mind to it. Not only do I want to still a love for learning academics, but I want to teach them perseverance, dedication, empathy things they're going to use in their everyday life growing up, I really struggled in school. So I want to make sure that I create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for them. Every student deserves a safe space. Um I'm excited at the opportunity to become a teacher and have an impact on the community that I live in. So thank you for considering me for this scholarship.
