Share your favorite thing about being an instructional coach for iteach!
Tina Tipton: One of my favorite things about being an instructional coach for iteach is connecting with other educators across the state. It was really interesting to learn about the systems, resources and instructional strategies used in other districts from around the state. When reading through some of the candidates reflections, I learned new strategies to teach certain concepts that I had never heard of before. And I've been teaching for 24 years
What does your role look like as an instructional coach?
Tina Tipton: My role as an instructional coach is full of variety. I connect with candidates through zoom emails and discussion boards. I also look at teacher reflections and provide feedback based on a common rubric. My hours are flexible based on the candidates needs. Most of all, I share my content expertise and I provide new teachers with the emotional support they need as they navigate through their first year of teaching.
What would be your advice to anyone who wants to become an instructional coach for iteach?
Tina Tipton: My advice to anyone who wants to become an instructional coach for iteach is to be flexible, share ideas and be patient with the candidates. New teachers have a lot on their plates and need your support and guidance.
