Share your favorite thing about being an instructional coach for iteach!
Chasanie Lowe: My favorite thing about being an instructional coach for iteach, it's definitely being able to collaborate and connect with other educators. We have some passionate, iteach candidates that are going to enter the world of education and bring that one of learning to students. And as I've worked with iteach, they continue to inspire me. And I love, like I said, the collaboration of working with other individuals that have amazing ideas and strategies and that we together get to learn and grow.
What does your role look like as an instructional coach?
Chasanie Lowe: What does my role as an instructional coach look like it's different every day. And I think that's what I love most about it is that our schedule is flexible. We're accommodating our own busy lives with work and family. But we're also able to provide flexible opportunities for our, iteach candidates. Many of our teachers are already in the classroom and we find ways to support them in their time. So often we have after school zoom meetings and we connect through emails and we host collaborative discussion posts in our platforms. And as an instructional coach, our role is to support them in all the ways that we can, whether that be emotionally um or mentally or if academically for all of our our candidates. So it's an exciting role. It's always different. Everyone's needs are different and everyone comes into this program with different strengths and, and different knowledge. And it's amazing to be able to grow and learn from each candidate and to be able to have that collaborative environment to share with each other.
What would be your advice to anyone who wants to become an instructional coach for iteach?
Chasanie Lowe: OK. My advice to anyone who's wanting to become an instructional coach for ith is do it if you are passionate about education and you are wanting to learn and grow from like minded individuals, this is the place for you. If you are a person that genuinely likes to help others and see them succeed, this is the job for you. If you like working in a collaborative environment and, and growing other people's skills and lifting them up, then this is the job for you. I love that we are sectioned by our specialties and specifically I teach family and consumer sciences. So being able to have a network of people that also teach family and consumer sciences isn't amazing opportunity for you as an instructional coach to learn and grow, but also for you to share all the knowledge that you have with your cohort as well. And if you are thinking about doing this job, it's for you.
