How has the Allan Drash Fellowship impacted your work back home?
Maja Raicevic: The Allan Drash Fellowship was an eye opening experience. The experience that gave me a power, I literally felt that I can change things in diabetes care. In Montenegro ISPAD and Breakthrough T1D gave me the opportunity to dive deeply into perfectly organized diabetes care of Children with diabetes. I've been in CHOP one of the top diabetes centers in the world where everything works great, all technology is available. I met experts, I made great connections and now I have Brynn Marks in my life. She helps me to solve some puzzles, but also to organize the first diabetes camp for Children in Montenegro.
What would you say to someone considering applying for the Allan Drash Fellowship?
Maja Raicevic: I would definitely recommend this fellowship to all young pediatric endocrinologists and diabetologists to improve their skills and make connections.
