Speaker: Eduardo Calliari
What is the most rewarding aspect of serving on ISPAD's Executive Board?
Eduardo Calliari: The most rewarding aspect on serving ISPAD's executive board was to see the society from the inside. Was to work and learn with people that really dedicate all their time, all their knowledge, all their passion to offer the members the best science, the best advocacy, the best clinical practice so that we can, all over the world, offer a better diabetes care for Children and adolescents with diabetes. Yeah.
How has serving on the ISPAD Executive Board impacted your professional growth and network?
Eduardo Calliari: Serving on ISPAD executive board had a major impact in my professional growth. I could understand at least a little bit and learn how the society is important to join, to aggregate so many players like clinicians, health care professionals, advocates, industry, government in favor of Children and adolescents with diabetes. And of course, I have the pleasure to work with wonderful people. President, Secretary generals, treasurers that really I can consider friends now and that taught me a lot. So I guess this would be very useful for me in my professional life in the long run.
What would you say to a member thinking of applying to join the ISPAD Executive Board?
Eduardo Calliari: If you are an ISPAD member, willing to apply to join the executive board, I would definitely say go for it. It's a lot of work. It's many meetings, but you're gonna deal with wonderful people from the executive board. They all have the same goal, which is improved lives of Children with diabetes. And it will be a wonderful sensation to feel that you are a part of it, even if it's a very small part of it, but you're gonna feel that's something that's worth and it's gonna be important for the rest of your life.
