Speaker: JAN MACK, HR Director, Community Living Concepts, Inc.

Please state your name, title, and company.

JAN MACK: Hi! My name is Jan Mack. I'm the HR Director for Community Living Concepts. It's a large nonprofit located in Livonia, Michigan.

Please explain who your company is, what it does, and who it serves.

JAN MACK: We are a large national nonprofit, operating in the state of Oregon, Connecticut, Maine and Michigan. We provide 24-7 residential services to persons with disabilities and or mental illness.

How many employees does your company have?

JAN MACK: We have approximately 1500 employees and we serve approximately 700 people who have disabilities and or mental illness.

What did you need in an HCM partner and how does isolved solve for those needs?

JAN MACK: When we first partnered with isolved, it was our main goal to have one employee personnel record be as complete as possible in one host spot. It allowed for easy access for employees to be able to get anything they needed for the personnel record. We love the time and attendance, benefits enrollment, as well as the carrier connection feeds, which has made our open enrollment process very easy. Additionally, we really wanted to focus on being able to have an employee training certification tracking method where we could keep track of all employees training records.

How was implementation with isolved?

JAN MACK: The implementation process was very straightforward. But because of the complexities of our company having 7 different F.E.I.D.'s, we were assigned absolutely without a doubt, the A team to get our isolved up and running for all of our agencies. They couldn't have been more responsive. They outlined a map and a timeline to get everyone onboard and they met every single one of those deadlines. If you needed them outside of our weekly meetings that we had, it was no problem picking up the phone to call everyone or send them an email, and we were usually getting responses on the same day. They were fantastic.

What is a tangible key benefit you saw from using isolved? (ex: hours saved, money saved, etc.)

JAN MACK: At the moment, It's kind of hard to tell exactly how much money we have saved because it's all measured in soft dollars versus the amount of time that we have saved in terms of administrative processes. The first being the benefits enrollment for our staff. They were able to get an email with a nice little link that took them right straight to their enrollment where they were able to make their health insurance choices. But the benefit that we also saw was that we have the carrier connection feed. So, it has also helped us in terms of making sure that employees are enrolled as they should be, termed as they should be, so see our savings right away with our carriers in terms of their fees. We also have saved a ton of time with the ACA portion of isolved. isolved does the automatic look back period and wherever staff are qualified for the ACA, the system automatically sends an email to them and provides another link for them to choose to enroll in the insurance if they feel like it. Additionally, some of our life insurance carriers require wages to be updated on an annual basis. With isolved, when our carrier feed goes straight over to the insurance carrier, all of the wages automatically go with it. So we don't have to do that either. As again, we're not doing the ACA. Finally, the applicant tracking has been a huge time saver. We're able to hire staff on a faster basis. We're also able to get them actually working in the field on a much quicker basis in terms of the new hire onboarding, where they're doing a ton of training online through isolved, and with their managers. Right now, what we're really looking at, is just a huge amount of administrative time and training time that has been very, very wonderful with isolved.

Anything else you would like to add?

JAN MACK: Six out of the seven of our companies have been using the app for employees to log in and out of work as they arrive for their shifts. It's been very, very good and staff have an easy way to be able to take a look at their own personnel record as they get used to using their phones more and more. One of our companies decided to go with the biometric time clocks and they have 35 time clocks. I believe that they're gonna start using within the next couple of weeks. When we start using that time clock, we're going to also start using isolved to process our payroll and move away from their competitor. In the other six agencies, we're still using the competitor for payroll services but before the year is over, we hope to have all of our locations using isolved completely for all of our payroll services.
