Speaker: Alyseia Alexander

Which test did you take and why you took it?

Alyseia Alexander: Hi, I took the NJATC test and I took it because I'm trying to get into the um local 532. I think that's what the local, uh, it's called in Austin, Texas, um, trying to get into the apprenticeship, so I wanted to study uh for the aptitude test.

Which section of the test was the most challenging for you?

Alyseia Alexander: Uh, the challenging part for me was the reading part. I've always been good at, uh, math, uh, but I hadn't taken math in like 15 years. I'm 30 years old, so I needed a Brush up on that too, but there's no really like um too much of a strategy for reading is you just have to read the passage or I went to the questions and then I read the passage. Um, but I just feel like either way, like sometimes the passes would straight up and say what the answer is for the question, or you just have to kind of like. Um, use concepts clues and try to figure it out.

How was your overall testing experience?

Alyseia Alexander: The overall testing was pretty fast, like um. It's, it's pretty fast. Uh, I got through the math portion fast, so I use, I had like about 5 minutes, so I like went through it and kind of went recheck my math for like the ones that I was kind of like iffy on, um, same for reading like I was kind of iffy if I'm not 100% confident in my answer like I just, I had about. I think I had about 5 to 6 minutes for the reading portion too, so I just went over the ones and went with my best gut, my best answer.

How would you recommend future test takers get ready for the test?

Alyseia Alexander: Definitely take this course. I did so many. Uh, I did a lesson or probably 2 or 3 lessons per day, um, studying for the test. I study about like 3 weeks ahead of the test. So literally study every day, um time yourself while you're doing it, uh. And Uh, just keep, keep timing yourself until you get to that point where, whether you know like the concept or whether you got down to the time, just study every single day.
