Speaker: Cindy Compeau, Office Administrator, LSA Church
Cindy Compeau: Hi, I'm Cindy and I'm the office administrator at LSA Church. LSA is part of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, but I'd really say that we're, more non-denominational or an evangelical church. We believe in the gospel and preaching the gospel every Sunday. We have about 235 people who attend each Sunday, and we have about 156 households that are represented, in Windsor and Essex County. Our goal or mission is the great commission. It is to help people to receive and develop new life in Christ, and we strive to do that each and every week.
Describe the challenges your ministry was facing before using IHUBApp.
Cindy Compeau: As the office administrator here at LSA, one of my responsibilities is to update our website. We have a lot of information that goes out to our congregation constantly, including a daily devotion that is written by one of our elders and it encourages our members or the public in general to dig deeper into God's word. One of the challenges that I had before, switching over to IHUBApp was that if the website crashed or if something didn't upload properly or if a picture needed to be changed. I needed to know coding or I needed to find someone who would be able to help out. It was very difficult and it was very time consuming, especially if the devotions didn't go out to people's emails. I would constantly have our congregation calling wondering where their, devotions were, they weren't why they weren't in their inbox, and I would have to wait for someone to get back to me. It was very frustrating and very time consuming. Thankfully, that has changed since we've moved over with IHUBApp.
What impact has IHUBApp had on your ministry?
Cindy Compeau: What I love about IHUBApp is how easy and user-friendly it is. I can post our daily devotions with a video within minutes. I can create an event with the map included in it and, an engaging picture and even sell tickets to an event. I can create a posting that reminds our congregation of an upcoming event or specialty thing coming up with our congregation. I can update staffing and it takes minutes to do this. When I've had a new staff person join, and I encourage them to use IHUBApp for their ministry. My training session for them is probably about 2 minutes on how to create a post. It is so easy to walk them through. I also love that on the rare occasion when we need support for something, IHUBApp support is so easy to contact and they're back to you within hours even though their return email will say up to 24 hours, it is usually within hours. So I love that I know I have the support that I need and I know that I can get through information that needs to be put on the website quickly and efficiently.
What would you say to a church considering IHUBApp?
Cindy Compeau: If another church were to ask me if I would recommend IHUBApp, I would wholeheartedly say yes. It is like no other website. It has an entire social media aspect to it where people in our congregation can interact and give a thumbs up and like posts that we put on there. They can also make comments to our daily devotions and encourage one another. It's great when I see the congregation being interactive on a website. The other aspect is there's a whole messaging part that I love. I'm also in charge of the rentals here at the church, and, when I have our congregation looking at renting various rooms, back in December I had one of our younger congregation message me through the app and ask me questions and so it was great to be able to use that in order to communicate when we're both not here at church. The app is so friendly for that so I would say there's nothing out there like IHUBApp. So definitely give it a try and you won't regret it.
What are three words you would use to describe IHUBApp?
Cindy Compeau: The three words that I would use to describe IHUBApp best would be Dynamic, Engaging, and User-friendly.
