Speaker: Julia Ashford, PATRIZIA

1. What projects does your committee work on?

Julia Ashford: The performance measurement committee are currently working on the asset, fund level reconciliation of total returns so that fund managers can potentially better understand their linkage from fund level to asset level returns in their portfolios. We're also working on the utilization of the INREV tools trying to understand better how people are currently using them and how we can get the members to use them even more than they currently do.

2. What is coming up next year?

Julia Ashford: In the next year, the committee will continue to support INREV in further enhancements and improvements to the tools. And anything that comes up related to performance measurement comes through the committee and we make sure that everything's as it should be, there's likely to be a much bigger focus on ESG. So if there's any intersection between the ESG, what's coming up there, and performance measurement that will come through the committee as well to make sure we happy with everything.

3. What involvement (time and effort) is required to be on your committee?

Julia Ashford: The amount of time you put in if you were going to get involved in one of the committees will sort of vary from month to month. You would have the one hour call that takes place every month typically and how much more time you have to put in depends on how much you're involved with various focus groups and how busy the groups are because the projects sort of come in waves and you could be putting an extra half an hour a month in or potentially an extra three or four hours in the summer months or even more, you know, if you're writing an article or something. But it always feels very rewarding and INREV will always support you very well throughout that. And it's great being part of one of the committees.
