Why launch a Global ODCE Index and how will it benefit investors operating on a global scale?
Dan Dierking: The launch of the Global ODCE Index will address the needs of investors operating on a global scale. Understanding returns will provide insights into core investments and their performance around the globe. This in turn should increase capital and allow the organisations to continue to advance the already maturing global industry. Developing a Global ODCE Index was a natural progression following the global real estate fund index for GREFI. GREFI has been around for a long time and it has value. But a Global ODCE Index was the next logical step to really understand global real estate and the market with a clear core peer set for all three regions. The global alliance between ANREV, INREV and NCREIF has strengthened the non-listed real estate market. The three organisations are aligned with similar values and goals. This positions us to assist our members and the industry by providing value for both global and regional markets better than before.
