Who are you, what is your job title and where do you work?
Paul LaBell : Hello, I'm Paul La Belle. I'm an assistant public works director for the Township of Roxbury in New Jersey.
Before working with Innovative Surface Solutions, what challenges were you facing in your winter maintenance operations?
Paul LaBell : Prior to using Innovative Solutions, Magic Minus 0 is what we're using currently. We're using calcium chloride. the problem with calcium chloride, you know, as most of you will probably know that, you know, it's corrosive, so we're having a lot of truck problem with our trucks. it did, it did work OK on the roadways with our salt. Since using Magic Minus Zero, I will say, we're, we're definitely seeing a, a huge Savings in our, in our salt consumption and better, longer lasting at the end of a storm and not getting many, many callbacks as far as refreeze goes. So I think the Magic Minus Zero product is working very well for us.
Can you describe what it was like working with Innovative Surface Solutions as you implemented using premium winter liquids?
Paul LaBell : So when we were, we were looking to, we, you know, as I mentioned, we were using calcium chloride, and I was looking, we only had, 1 5000 gallon tank for storage which we were running into an issue with, with getting our product once our tank was running low, we were having issues, trucking issues, and it would be 2 or 3 weeks before we would get a delivery. So I started looking for alternate, products, spoke to a couple of people about the Magic-0 and and the products Innovative has, contacted them. Carl Henchey is the person I was put in contact with and has been tremendous from start to finish, you know, for us implementing the product here in Roxbury, and, I have nothing but good, great things to say about Carl and his team and Innovative solutions and their product especially because, we've definitely seen a difference using their product.
What improvements or results have you seen since switching to our products?
Paul LaBell : So we've been using Magic 0. Now this is our 2nd season using this product, so, some of the benefits we've seen in a short period of time is definitely a savings in the purchase of salt. the, the long line, especially on the back end of a storm when my, when my team is out there salting and they're ready to go home, we're not seeing in the last two seasons, any major callbacks like we had in the past. So the product is definitely, helping us, especially on the back end after a storm when we do our final salting and hopefully the team can go home after that.
If another municipality or contractor is facing similar challenges, what would you tell them about your experience with Innovative?
Paul LaBell : So if I had another municipality come to me and Suggest, you know, The product we're using and what prompted me to go to that product, I would definitely suggest them and and recommend them highly to go to Innovative, talk about their multiple products um you know Magic Minus Zero works best for us. Some of Innovative's other products may work best for them, but, I would definitely recommend them. Anyone in, New Jersey that came to me and wanted to know information on Innovative products, I would definitely highly recommend using their products.
