Who are you, what is your job title and where do you work?
Matt Curran: Matt Curran, highway superintendent for the town of Hopewell, I've been doing the job for 13 years.
Before working with Innovative Surface Solutions, what challenges were you facing in your winter maintenance operations?
Matt Curran: Treated salt was used prior to me being the highway superintendent in Hopewell, and I didn't really believe it. But then the proof was in the pudding, and then I tried it and I'm, I love it.
Can you describe what it was like working with Innovative Surface Solutions as you implemented using premium winter liquids?
Matt Curran: It's seamless working with them. Within two days, we can get 4500 gallons from the Port of Albany delivered right here to our doorstep. The drivers know what to do. They put it in our tanks, and we know what to do when we mix it. We mix it with the payloader and every load that comes out of my shop has magic in it.
What improvements or results have you seen since switching to our products?
Matt Curran: When we go out with magic, we've noticed a huge difference in the reduction of bounce and scatter. And also, it's, so sticky, you know, it sticks to the road better. And it helps prevent the refreeze, like when we have those temperatures that lately have been going kind of wonky. And it's, it's a game changer, really.
If another municipality or contractor is facing similar challenges, what would you tell them about your experience with Innovative?
Matt Curran: If you have any questions on using Magic Minus 0 or any of the other Innovative products. You can ask myself or a bunch of the other guys that utilize it. And also Innovative will also help you get set up with tanks and sprayers. And there's also, on your sprayers, there's a meter. You can meter your, your liquid, so you know just what you're doing, and then you mix it with the payloader. And the, savings, I think you'll see it after a year's time, you know, after you look at everything as wasted trips, you know, you do have some time spent mixing it, but you gotta pay them, the guys, whether they're fighting or marching. That's what I do. When we got a little low time, mix the salt up. And, anyways, innovative can hook you right up with anything you need. You can lease tanks or you can own tanks. I own my tanks, and it's worked out wonderfully.
