Speaker: Kevin Casey, Foreman, Easton, NY Highway Dept

Please introduce yourself, your job title and who you work for.

Kevin Casey: Hi, Kevin Casey. I'm the foreman for the town of Easton.

How have you found magnesium chloride compares to other products for dust control?

Kevin Casey: We've used calcium in the past but the, we haven't noticed a difference with the magnesium at all, (compared) with the calcium. It just seems to be the big thing is it's a little bit cheaper than calcium and it's a little bit less corrosive so it makes the vehicles last longer.

Has there been any unexpected benefit or result of your liquid dust control program besides dust suppression?

Kevin Casey: The product works just as we expected it to and there's no issues as we can see now. We've used it for three years.

Could you describe your overall experience with Innovative Surface Solutions.

Kevin Casey: The service with the company has been great. They give you the applicator system to go in the back of the truck along with um, the holding tanks to hold the product at your location.

What would you tell someone considering trying ProGuard liquids for the first time?

Kevin Casey: I would recommend magnesium if you're thinking about putting something down on dirt roads after you grade them to help with the dust for one benefit. And the really major one is that it helps bind the roads a lot better and holds up during the rainstorms in the summer and it holds, holds a lot better too in the winter time when you're plowing them.
