What has working in mental health care meant to you?
Veena Murthy: To me, mental health is fundamental to our overall well-being. Although a healthy mind is crucially important to all decisions and choices we make, it is the one organ that is least addressed and still holds a stigma amongst many communities. As a clinician and advocate of value-based care, I have firsthand experienced how overall health cannot be achieved without addressing the mind first. I'm excited that we are in an age where mental health is finally getting the spotlight and hope to make a small difference for a large cause.
