Kamelia Aryafar: Hi, I'm Kamelia Aryafar I'm an Engineering Director here at Google for Cloud AI and Industry Solutions focused on retail.
How has allyship impacted your career? What advice would you give to other leaders about how to show up as an ally?
Kamelia Aryafar: I have been very fortunate to have had several allies throughout my career to have amplified my voice, sponsored me in different ways and made me really feel included and valued as a colleague. Without a doubt, their allyship has made me into the leader that I am today and I'm very grateful for knowing all of them. Um, my advice to leaders is to really take the first step of listening and informing yourself of the folks who work with you and identifying the ways that you can be a better ally uh maybe would be to sponsorships or maybe it would be to amplifying their voices or systematic changes. Whether it maybe I feel like the first step is listening and informing yourself about the folks that you work with.
