Joyce Mueller: Hi I'm Joyce Mueller and I'm a Customer Engineering Manager for Google Cloud.
How has allyship impacted your career? What advice would you give to other leaders about how to show up as an ally?
Joyce Mueller: I'd say I've been a benefit of allyship my entire career and I wouldn't be here without it. It started in high school with a wise teacher who knew the only girl in the computer science class still could succeed and should and should go on to college, pursue an engineering degree. And even through the late eighties and early nineties that I was in college, I found professors and programs incredibly supportive. Um, advice I'd have to leaders, uh, about showing up as an ally. It's just to act to realize that more people are uncomfortable in day to day settings than you might realize and make sure that everyone has a voice.
