Jose Gomes: Hi, my name is Jose Gomes and I lead the Retail and CPG team here at Google Cloud.
How has allyship impacted your career? What advice would you give to other leaders about how to show up as an ally?
Jose Gomes: I have been fortunate to get to grow up and work across five continents, which has been an experience that's allowed me to understand my privilege from a number of vantage points. Um, and the advice I would give to other leaders looking to invest in their allyship is first and foremost to be interested in others, um, and their experiences to listen with empathy and seek to understand different perspectives, uh, to show up by being present, engaged and committed, um, to others, and finally to really speak up and to be an advocate for those around you.
