Clara Mejia: An insight from the CBC conference that will stick with me is to always consider cultural perspectives in the context of placemaking, especially since we're in retail real estate.
What was your experience like at ICSC’s CBC reception? Share a standout moment.
Clara Mejia: A standout moment at the ICSC CBC reception was connecting with students across all different universities that ICSC partners with and establishing those connections as well. Furthermore, connecting with Glenn Rufrano, the former CEO of Cushman and Wakefield and asking about his past experiences as I could implement his insights to my own journey.
What one piece of advice would you give to first-time student attendees of the CBC?
Clara Mejia: A piece of advice that I would give to first time students attending CBC is to put yourself out there and research the people beforehand so that you come with confidence and preparedness and ask questions. Always be ready to engage and don't let imposter syndrome overcome you.
