Speaker: Cheyenne Perry, Student, North Carolina Central University
What insight from the CBC Conference will stick with you, and why?
Cheyenne Perry: One insight from the CBC that I will carry with me forever is that there are people all over the nation that are trying to create legacies and create change that will impact the generations to come. And, and real estate is so important to partner with people and different organizations on different levels to make this change happen.
Cheyenne Perry: One thing that I will take away from my CBC experience is to get involved and I mean, truly work with your legislators, work with those in the commercial space, work with your community, the residents. If you truly want to create change in real estate, it is so much bigger than just you, you need to create those relationships. And I did that at the CBC.
What was your experience like at ICSC’s CBC reception? Share a standout moment.
Cheyenne Perry: My ICSC CBC reception experience was phenomenal. It was one like no other. It was very inspiring to be around such successful people in commercial real estate and see how they develop and pour into their communities and how they were so humble and open to sharing their experience with students like myself.
What one piece of advice would you give to first-time student attendees of the CBC?
Cheyenne Perry: My advice for anyone going to the CBC for the first time would be to plan everything down to what panels you're gonna go to kind of map out where they are, what events you want to attend. even down to the area, looking at what restaurants you want to walk to for lunch, just have a plan so that you can make the most of your day.
