Hello, my name is Willow Rudolph and I am currently a Patient Care Tech here at the University of Virginia in the Surgical Admission suite, also known as SAS, and I also am an Earn While You Learn nursing student. During the Earn While You Learn program, I learned a ton of skills and I still continue to learn things. And every single day at my job I'm able to put those to use, and working one-on-one with patients is very helpful because I can tie those skills in that I learned during the Earn While You Learn program and I can practice with things. Working at UVA is a great thing for me because it's a learning hospital. So, if it's something like wanting to practice with the manual blood pressure or any practice, a lot of people are very willing to let you practice and also let you watch them. So, when it comes to utilizing the skills I learned and developed, I'm able to do that every single day at my job because I'm supported by great coworkers and managers that allow me to continue to develop in the Earn While You Learn program and it's a very great opportunity.
