Speaker: Margaret Dawson Amoah, Participant in Welcome Baby Program
What's something you learned from your home visiting experience?
Margaret Dawson Amoah: So this has been a while now, but I remember that first visit, honestly, I think I, I even cried a bit on the call with her. I think it was just, it's just that sense of feeling that I was doing OK. Yeah, I think that was, that was the main thing ... just having another person to listen to me and like, you know, give me that reassurance that it was fine, baby was gonna be OK and we were gonna be fine. Um I think that's like the key thing for me from that first visit and, and even with subsequent visits and check ins, I remember at a point of she even tried to get us a Pack and Play. I it didn't work out but just the thoughtfulness, listening to the issues that we were having when I was trying to find an an apartment because my landlord said we couldn't stay anymore. She gave me resources like, honestly, it was every conversation, not just the first visit visit online, but every other conversation has always been very reassuring. Yeah, and just, yeah, just having someone to, you know, listen them back dates and just be seen and be heard. Um, I think those are big things for me from our visits.
