Denise Cervantes: Happy Home Visiting Day! My name is Denise Cervantes and I'm the resource and outreach coordinator for the MCH Access Welcome Baby program. How does home visiting help? Well, home visiting helps on multitude of levels. First off, it provides you a professional parent coach or a registered nurse to come to your home to help, provide you with resources and information to help with guidance as well as connecting you with health and social services.
Why should families sign up during pregnancy?
Denise Cervantes: Families should sign up for home visiting programs during pregnancy to help give pregnant and parenting families the support they need to succeed. This results in healthier pregnancies and better birth outcomes, as well as creating stronger families. These free programs match families with a parent coach professional and a registered nurse that provides personalized coaching, guidance, and connections to community resources.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Denise Cervantes: The most rewarding part of my job is being witness to all the transformational change that our families can make together.
