Introduce yourself, and tell us what the Fair Housing Month means to you?
Ruth Hackney: Hi, I'm Ruth Hackney. I'm the CEO of the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin and the president of the Home Buyers Roundtable of Dame County for 2023. So what does fair housing month mean to me? It means opportunity. We know that homeownership is the number one way to build wealth, generational wealth. It builds strong, happy, healthy homes and it builds community. And so any time that an individual is unfairly prevented from getting that opportunity, we not only give them the power to stand up for themselves, but we stand behind them so that they can achieve the dream of home ownership in America. That is what fair housing month means to me.
