Speaker: Owen Satterley, Winner
What is the secret of your team’s success?
Owen Satterley: Hi, everybody. I think what really worked for us was twofold here in terms of our success as a team. The first one was we had constant reminders from Michael weekly. Almost twice a week to engage with the app. He wanted us to be successful and I think that really worked. But I think at an individual level, what I found really useful was within our Middle East coaching whatsapp group is that people were sharing the programs that they were on how they were finding it, the benefits they were seeing in it. And I found that really useful and allowed me to really think about what I was getting out of the program. And wanting to engage with the content. So as an element of social accountability that seemed to work really well for us.
What fueled your commitment and success in the Hintsa App pilot?
Owen Satterley: The key to my engagement in this program and my commitment to it is twofold. The first one is I am highly competitive and have a deep desire to need to win. And so there was no way as soon as I found out that it was a competition that I wasn't going to engage in as much of it as possible. But secondly, and probably on a more serious note, an important note, we talk about these things every day and it's just always nice to hear it from a different source so that we can think about how we are delivering the messages and empowering people to make changes in their own lives. And since my role has changed and being out here, I am spending way more time sitting down. And so reflecting on the practicalities of the biomechanics element of how we do what we do has been really useful for me. I really wanted to use that and a couple of the other tools that we just take for granted to refresh my own work practice so that I can maintain my own health and energy
What was the impact for you personnally? What changes did you make?
Owen Satterley: Unsurprisingly, I think no real massive changes. However, I don't think massive change is the important thing here
Owen Satterley: My role now means that I'm sitting for huge portions of the day. And so breaking up my day with micro breaks and you know, movement snacks and all of the things that we we talk about has become far more intentional and the timing of the pilot I think for me has been incredibly useful. And it's allowed me to think about how I empathize with the people that I'm working with on a daily basis. And to almost lead by example and to be very visible and transparent with, you know, why I'm walking around the office so often when they see me kind of doing so and then encouraging them to change. And so there's been a real alignment of stars here in terms of the new role and the pilot coming on board and my own circumstance coupled with what my clients are going through has been incredibly useful and powerful for me to not just practice what I preach but to kind of demonstrate how to do it with my clients that I'm seeing every day here. So it's been incredibly useful. I just want to thank the guys that have been particularly involved in the biomechanics element because it's been incredibly useful to think about my own application of it and how I can truly help other people to weave it into their kind of day to day.
