Speaker: Elizabeth Finella, Senior Revenue Manager

How did you find your first role at Hilton?

Elizabeth Finella: How did you first find your role at Hilton? The first time I found my role at Hilton. I had just graduated college and I was living in Orlando for the last 21 years, so I was ready to get out, you could say. So I was already working for Hilton, so I just was kind of scanning the website for jobs that were available in any city besides Orlando and applied to revenue management. Well, as a revenue analyst, didn't really know what it was consisted of, but just knew that it was outside of Orlando and then just kind of applied on a whim.

How many roles have you had at Hilton?

Elizabeth Finella: How many roles have I had with Hilton? So I originally got hired as a bartender and then I moved to front desk agent and then I was a front desk supervisor, pre arrival coordinator and then I became a revenue analyst. And then I got promoted to revenue manager and then worked my way through franchise to now managed. So I'd say seven roles.

What is one of your favorite hobbies?

Elizabeth Finella: One of my favorite hobbies. One of my favorite hobbies outside of work, of course, is probably hiking. I used to live in Arizona, which is very well known for hiking. Been on a bunch of cool hikes. A lot of places that a lot of people don't get the privilege of going to like the wave in Arizona, which is permit only. I think only up to, like, I think they just increased up to only 50 people can go there now per day. But a lot of people apply for permits and never get to go there. So that's a really cool hike. I've been on, I've done Angels Landing, which is one of the top five most dangerous hikes. Just because a lot of people have died on it. And then I also went on one of my first backpacking trip in October, to have a soup high, which is like crystal blue water, which is really beautiful. But, yeah, I'd say hiking is one of my favorite hobbies. It's just great for socializing. And then on top of socializing you also just get to experience the outdoors and disconnect. Because most of the hikes I really go to, don't have reception. So really just being able to disconnect which hard time leaving my cell phone. So it's nice that I just don't get the choice for the reception since it's just not there.

What is your most memorable experience with a hotel?

Elizabeth Finella: What is your most memorable experience at the hotel? So I'm taking this question as if I was the guest at the hotel and not exactly working at the hotel. I probably have to say last March when I stayed at the Conrad in Nashville, I did a sisters trip. My other two sisters, it was our first time during a trip in five years because my older sister has four kids. So she keeps pretty busy. And then my little sister had just graduated college the year before. So just finding a time for our schedules to line up. But that hotel was the most memorable. just because when we checked in from the start, the customer service was great. They called us the Finella sisters and then just really were interacting with us a lot and speaking to our state was great. They sent us a bottle of champagne. I just kind of starting off our trip hoping we have a great sisters weekend and then my property that I was supporting at the time also sent me amenities. So just across the board. It was great customer service from the property level. It was just also a memorable trip with my two sisters that we had not really had sister, sister time in a while just because of life and everything. So yeah, that was my most memorable experience.
