Speaker: Eddie Chambers, Truck Driver
Please share your name and role at Highways & Skyways Transportation.
Eddie Chambers: Hi, my name is Eddie Chambers and I'm a truck driver here at Highways and Skyways.
How did you find your way to your current role at Highways & Skyways Transportation? Past experiences?
Eddie Chambers: At the time I was driving for another company and wanted to be a home more and, uh, just happened to be on Craigslist one day and seen an ad, uh, for hallways and Skyways. I called Chad came in for an interview and as they say the rest was history.
Could you share a few details about your favorite part of working at Highways & Skyways Transportation?
Eddie Chambers: One of the things I like here is they don't micromanage. Um We get our loads via email and the loads are pretty much spaced apart. So there's no rushing. So we have plenty of time to get there. Uh, which allows me to get plenty of rest. Uh when I get to uh receiver or shipper. Um, also they're very family oriented. Um, so everybody's real nice and they know me as Eddie and not truck number, you know, whatever the truck may be. So that's a plus, uh working here.
What stands out to you about the culture at Highways & Skyways Transportation?
Eddie Chambers: Uh the culture here is uh family. Um I had an issue a few years back medically and um how in Skyway they didn't hesitate to uh step in and help to see what I needed, what the family needed uh to keep my household going. Uh So that meant a whole lot to me. Uh That's one of the reasons why, you know, I'm, I'm willing and able to do whatever they need done is because they helped me out. Um, another thing is if you mess up, it's not the end of the world, um, they work with you, um, to get you back in position to get you back in place to where you were. And so, uh the culture here is, is family and, uh, that's what I appreciate the most about, uh, highways and Skyways.
