What led you to searching for senior living? What did life look like before Highgate Senior Living?
Sandy J.: Mom and dad were living on their own and realized that when, one of them fell, it was gonna be tough for one of them fell, it was gonna be tough for them to get the help they needed. They realized that they could use a little more looking after if you will. And it was just becoming difficult for them to live on their own. So they knew it was time to start looking into, assisted living options. into, assisted living options. into, assisted living options. into, assisted living options.
How would you describe Highgate Senior Living in three words?
Sandy J.: The three words that I would use to describe Highgate Senior Living are caring, and comforting, and resident-centered. The folks at Highgate seem to be so caring to everyone that lives there. and family members, The comforting feeling is for us family members. It's so wonderful knowing our folks are in good care and the residents seem to take top priority in everything in all of the folks that work there at Highgate and in the actions that we see. It's, it's a wonderful feeling. It's, it's a wonderful feeling.
How is Highgate Senior Living different from other senior living communities?
Sandy J.: I'm not sure how Highgate is different from other senior living experiences personally or firsthand. But I do know this, as soon as my mom walked into Highgate Senior Living, when she was looking for various options in town, she loved Highgate and then when she went on to explore other options, they never compared to Highgate in her mind. And so she went right back to Highgate and they have made the best decision, I think in moving there.
What do you/does your parent enjoy most about living at Highgate?
Sandy J.: It's hard to pick just one thing that my parents find as their favorite thing at Highgate. I can tell you that they love the people there, everyone that we've met and every time my folks talk about anyone they have come in contact with there at Highgate, they find them to be friendly and working there with love in their heart and working there for the right reasons. really, really impressive personnel. They also love the food at Highgate and we have eaten with them several times as their guest and I think it's my favorite restaurant in town. It's really delicious. So I know they enjoy that and they love the fact that whenever they need something, there's someone there to help them. it is very attentive and they do appreciate the immediacy, I guess you could say of the services. So they're tickled with very, very many things. It is wonderful.
Which community does your loved one live in? Is there a team member that comes to mind who has made a difference?
Sandy J.: My folks live at Highgate Center in Yakima and I live in town also so it's very convenient for visits. And one person that comes to mind right away that they enjoy, their interactions with is April. She has always got a positive attitude and she makes them laugh every day. They have so many good things to say about so many people that work there though too. I know Tracy is wonderful as their housekeeper. They're just so many different people that I could name, but those are a couple that come to mind.
