Speaker: Jen McMillan
What is one of your big take-aways from our ARC Experience? Describe how you will bring that into your practice as an educator.
Jen McMillan: One big takeaway that I have from our cohort experience is that there's a lot of so much power and discussion and having vulnerable conversations with one another to really push, not push my own thinking and then continue to be curious and learning about the experiences and perspectives of others.
If you were to recommend this experience to a colleague, what would you share and why?
Jen McMillan: I would absolutely recommend this experience to a colleague. I think that it's very rare to find the the space to connect in this way and be in community with people who are actively doing the work alongside you. But also in a space where you can be really vulnerable and make connections with others because it's not in your regular day to day space, you can, I found that I was really able to be focused on my own learning instead of worrying about what someone might think or their perspective of me as I was doing my own, reflect, reflection and growth and work. And that was really valuable space.
