Speaker: Teresa Correa

Start by letting us know who you are, what position you are applying, and in what city/state.

Teresa Correa : Hi, my name is Teresa and I'm applying for the Weatherford Texas position, medical office manager, um, slash patient experience coordinator.

Why should we hire you?

Teresa Correa : Why you should hire me. I have been in the health care for many years and have a lot of patient experience. Um I have all the qualities and the experience of the core responsibilities that you list in the advertisement. And I am also that type of person who is a hard worker in a fun environment. I also know about five star customer service. I've been in customer service since I was 15 years old and I also would like to be a part of a growing company that makes a difference in people's lives.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

Teresa Correa : My greatest accomplishment I would have to say is my family. Um I have a very loving and caring husband who's been with me for 12 years now and he has been very supportive in everything I've done. And I also have a wonderful son who keeps me busy and we just continue to grow and accomplish all the things that we want in life.

Describe your ‘perfect’ day?

Teresa Correa : The perfect day to me is being able to complete all the tasks that are needed to be done for that specific day as far as like work and making sure all the referrals are done and messages are answered and patients are scheduled um then coming home and accomplishing being able to cook a meal and getting my son to practice and still completing all the household tasks that needs to be done. I would say that would be a perfect day.

In the next 3-5 years where do you see yourself personally and professionally. Share as many details as you are comfortable with.

Teresa Correa : In the next 3 to 5 years, I see myself personally um becoming more spiritual and uh focusing on my health and mental well being. Um I'm going to become more active. My husband and my son, they play sports and have joined multiple teams and I think it's time for me to join a sport that I like and um just develop those skills and become more active in my professional life. I see myself with a company where I am developing and continuing to uh learn and develop new skills and hopefully retire with that company.

Who do you think of for; motivation, inspiration and direction? Why

Teresa Correa : So when it comes to motivation, I think of my son. Um I, he is an only child and I want to give him the life that I didn't have and be able to spoil him and give him all the opportunities available to him that I didn't have growing up. So he's my motivation to keep pushing harder and growing and developing. Um I look up to my mom uh for inspiration. Um She's been a single mom of four kids and she was such a hard worker growing up and I seen all the things that she did to help people and that's who I look for in direction of where I want to go with my career. Because I look up to her on that aspect and wanting to help people and make a difference in people's lives.

What gives you a sense of Purpose?

Teresa Correa : What gives me a sense of purpose is my friends, my family and the people I encounter. I want to be that positive role model and influence on people and helping them achieve their goals.

What does success look like to you?

Teresa Correa : Success to me is not about what you have. To me, it's about being happy of where you are and what you have accomplished in life. We are all gonna continue to grow and develop in life but doesn't mean that you're not successful. So I feel like if you are happy, then you have succeeded.

What would be your top 3 book recommendations regardless of genre and why?

Teresa Correa : My top book recommendations would be Grape cure and Plant Paradox. Those are the two most recent books that I have read and I recommend these because I have been focusing on my health and trying to go more of the natural route. So those two books have helped me to learn about certain things to better my health and understand why um things that we eat aren't good for you. And it gives a lot of good scenarios and analogies on helping you to understand the things that we grew up thinking that were good for us, but they're really not. So if you are looking on something for your health, I would recommend those two books.
