Speaker: Nathan Sam Wright

Start by letting us know who you are and why you are applying for the Hearing and Brain Centers of America

Nathan Sam Wright : Hello, my name is Sam Wright. I'm here in my home in Hurricane Utah, uh with my dog tank. Um, I'm really excited to be here and I see this is quite the hiring process. It looks pretty good. Um, what can I say? I love to go hiking with my dog. We went on an ice hike this morning. Uh I really love to ride my dirt bike. That's my favorite pastime. Um And why am I applying for hearing and brain centers of America? Well, the past three years, a little over three years, I've been working at Stephen Wade Toyota selling cars. Uh, but before then I knew Jared Braer and he kind of gave subtle hints to how wonderful the business is. Um, how many people you can help out. Um, and he really encouraged me to look into it, which he stuck that seed in there, but I was too busy doing what I was doing. Uh But here I am looking for a new career and something that's uh little more straightforward than the car business, I guess you could say. And what really got me to come here and check out the website and check out your youtube, um, was Rhys Jones. I, I sold him a car, made the connection that I, I knew his dad, that I had researched their business a little bit. Um, and a few months ago he sent me the link to where I'm at right now. So I figured to right now is the time to take the leap and to apply to hearing and brain centers of America, see what I can offer you guys and how you can change my career and change my life as well.

Why should we hire you?

Nathan Sam Wright : Why should we hire you? Well, that's a great question. I'm glad any business would ask that when they're trying to hire somebody. Um, selling cars the past few years is really sharpened my sales skills. But I don't see that as the most important thing, especially for um the type of work and the type of business that you guys are. Uh I think a lot of it, especially with selling hearing aids and the nature of the business would have to do with empathy. I am a very empathetic person. I have great interpersonal communication skills where I can listen to these people and understand their problems and help them realize uh that our product is here to help them, it's here to change their life, uh to listen to their loved ones, to hear the conversations around them, to improve their whole mental health. Uh And that's something that I want to be a part of. I loved selling cars for the past three years, but it is a little cut throat, um a little negative and a little strong sale. So something like this, this business really drives me forward that I can be empathetic that I can help people and I can feel good about that.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

Nathan Sam Wright : What is your greatest accomplishment so far? That is a great question. It really, it really got me sitting here thinking for quite a minute. Uh a lot of self reflection, looking on my past and the things I've done and all the things I've accomplished and learned. But I suppose my greatest accomplishment would be being somebody that I am proud of. Um Life can be tough as we all know that and uh it can bring us down, it can bring us up. Uh but to find a steady base, to really believe in yourself and know who you are and how you can treat other people. Um I've, I've gotten really far with that in life. I love who I am. I love projecting myself and other people um feeling their good energy, giving them good energy. Um And that has allowed me to accomplish many other small things, you know, um trivial things of the world, buying a house, buying a dirt bike, um which are also silly, but I am proud of my accomplishment of who I am so far in my life. I'm 32 years old and I just want to improve. I just want to be a better person, uh which in turn, improves all the people around me.

Describe your ‘perfect’ day?

Nathan Sam Wright : Describe your perfect day. My perfect day would consist of waking up immediately taking my dog out for a nice brisk walk or a nice, really nice hike for a couple of hours. Somewhere beautiful here in Saint George or wherever I am. It doesn't matter, followed with a wonderful breakfast of, uh, possibly bacon and eggs over easy, nice and crispy bacon. Uh, from there, I would load up my dirt bike in the back of my truck. I would take off the Warner Valley and I would have a good, a good ride. See some scenery, pause, reflect, enjoy the silence. Uh, make my way home, maybe go get some in and out burger, uh, maybe a steak. That sounds good for lunch if I'm having a perfect day, uh, come home freshen up, take my dog for another walk, maybe just watch a movie, read a book preferably and, uh, relax, sit on my porch, watch the sunset, maybe go for another walk. And that sounds like a pretty perfect day to me.

In the next 3-5 years where do you see yourself personally and professionally. Share as many details as you are comfortable with.

Nathan Sam Wright : In the next 3 to 5 years. Where do you see yourself personally and professionally? Well, personally, I hope to see myself surrounded by family and friends, hopefully, still my dog uh right where I am now, but with strong relationships, uh relationships take a lot of work, but they're all we really have in this life and uh they're the most important things. So as I work on myself personally, and my personal growth continues. So will my relationships um in 3 to 5 years, I hope I have more of them. I hope I connect and meet more new people uh to out of the mix and that I can continue to grow myself to, to maintain those and grow them and, and offer them what they can offer me strength and love and happiness. Uh And as far as professionally working on myself and growing myself is only going to grow my professional life. I hope to see myself a, a part of a beautiful company that has a beautiful mission. Uh And I hope I can have a role in that company which has provided me with a good life, financial stability. Um but allows me to continue to grow and be a good person and, and maintain those relationships that I have and the relationships to come.

Who do you think of for; motivation, inspiration and direction? Why

Nathan Sam Wright : Who do you think of for motivation, inspiration and direction? Why? Well, for motivation, inspiration and direction, I like to think of myself in the next 5 to 10 years. Uh And I like to think of where I wanna be, how I wanna feel and the things that I want in my life. And then I look at myself now and am I doing those things that are gonna get me there that are gonna get me to those feelings? Um And that does give me in inspiration and direction. Uh And then to source from the outside, I simply just think of my dad and my two brothers. Uh my two brothers are quite a bit older than me, quite a bit ahead in life. Um But they've done so well. Uh having beautiful families, having beautiful careers, same with my father. Um And they're just great examples to have. So they're some, they're people that I aspire to be, um who I am today is because of their example, uh their inspiration and their direction. If I need something that's who I, I can turn to, that's who I can get advice from. And even even if I don't need anything. Uh, they're the type of people that are there, um, just to be there just to give you their energy uh, and be that source of light in your life. And so for motivation, inspiration and direction, I look to the future, I look to what I want and I look towards the people that have that and that's what I'll keep rolling with. And so it's got me pretty good, pretty far in life so far. Uh, reading a lot of books helps as well, uh whether they're fictional stories, inspirational stories, whatever it be, as long as it has a positive message, uh, and a lesson to be learned.

What gives you a sense of Purpose?

Nathan Sam Wright : What gives you a sense of purpose. Uh, for me, purpose comes from relationships, the relationships that I have and finding new ones because when I meet new people, uh, there's always something they have to offer and I always have something to offer them. And that gives me a sense of purpose, meeting these new people and helping them finding help from them, learning and growing. Uh, because without these new relationships, you kind of just get stuck, uh, you become a stagnant person and then that's when the negative impacts start to hit your life. So meeting people, having new relationships gives me a sense of purpose and looking forward to what that new relationship can bring in life.

What does success look like to you?

Nathan Sam Wright : What does success look like to you. Success to me looks like being a good person, leaving a good, strong impact on the people that I know and love or the people that I just meet in passing um constantly being around people uh in the workforce in your personal life. If you have a negative energy and negative light, uh that is an unsuccessful life to me. So if I can impact people in a good, positive way, uh they can feed off my energy and feel better afterwards. Uh That is a successful life. That is what success looks like to me. If I can master that. Um I can, I can do well in anything, you know, I can, I can do well in my relationships, I can do well at work. Um because without it, you might get by in life but it's not gonna be rewarding, it's not gonna be successful.

What would be your top 3 book recommendations regardless of genre and why?

Nathan Sam Wright : What would be your top three book recommendations regardless of genre and why I love this question. I love to read. Uh And I'm really glad you guys asked this question. Um Book number one, I guess that really affected my life, really got me into wanting to read and get deep into books would be where the red fern grows by Wilson Rawles as a young boy. Um The story was so captivating, so emotional and it really teaches you a lot hard work, love and loss, life challenges um in such a simple story, but it has so much profound effect uh from there as a young boy, I read that book a lot. I've even read it into my adult life. Uh The next book I'd like to talk about would be to a God unknown by John Steinbeck. Um I love nature. Uh I love the mysticism of nature. Uh The powers that be of nature, how, how it makes you feel um and connecting to a higher being other than yourself um call that God, call that whatever you want. Um That really opened my eyes to wanting to be more spiritual, wanting to connect to something greater than myself. Um and just appreciating what that God has given you in life and, and how you're gonna act and how you're gonna be ungrateful or grateful to it. Uh So to a God Unknown by John Steinbeck has been another book really, really influential in my life. Uh And then the number one book that I read often all the time, a short easy read uh as a man Thinketh by James Allen. Uh It is a self help book. It was written a long time ago, I think in 1903 or something like that. Uh And that's just it as a man thinketh so he shall be. Um if you're full of negative thoughts, if you're full of hatred, if you're full of jealousy, that's what you'll be. And if you're full of love, humility, kindness, acceptance, all these good things, that's what you will be. The mind is a very powerful tool. Um And it teaches us to keep it sharp and to keep it full of the good, wonderful things. So where the red fern grows as if sorry to a God unknown and as a man thinketh.
