Speaker: Tracey Alba
Start by letting us know who you are, what position you are applying, and in what city/state.
Tracey Alba: Hi, my name is Tracy Alba. I am applying for, uh, the position of a medical assistant and I reside in Saint George Utah.
Why should we hire you?
Tracey Alba: Why should you hire me? Well, I love working with patients and I love seeing the outcome of something that they had no idea that something could make such a difference in their lives uh to make them happy and to just make their life better um at, at their age. And uh I love working as a team. I'm very detailed. Um I organized and I'm patient. I'm kind, I feel like as a team, it's important to work together and to learn and grow from each other and to share ideas and thoughts and set goals to accomplish those things. So, um it's just a positive um environment when you can collaborate and work together and have the same ideas uh and goals. And again, like I said, I just think that's so important so that we can um help uh the patient with their goals and, and accomplish what they're wanting to achieve and making their lives better.
What is your greatest accomplishment so far?
Tracey Alba: So what is my greatest accomplishment so far? I would say as personally as a, a mother, I'm so proud of my three kids. They're all adults now and so proud of what they've become and what they're growing to be and just watching them learn life and overcome those obstacles that come their way and how they managed them and how they deal with them and how it makes them a better person. And I'm just so proud of them as a mother and, and for me in my own life, I'm just so proud of myself accomplishing the jobs that I've had in each one, the challenges that, that come in that I've been able to learn and grow from. And some of those, I just never thought that I could, I could go as far as I did. Um But pushing myself and um just accepting the things that, you know, the mistakes that I make and, and learning and growing from them. And I'm so grateful because that has just made me so much stronger and, and better at what the person that I am.
Describe your ‘perfect’ day?
Tracey Alba: Describe a perfect day. So a perfect day to me doesn't mean that everything goes smooth and well, because that's, um, that would be ideal if that was the case every day. But to me, a perfect day is knowing that I've given my very best to every patient that walks through that door and then I come in contact with and that I've given them the proper education, the service, the, um, the kindness, the I'm listening to them. Um, and that they're walking out feeling that they got the best service ever. And, um, it, and also just as the people that I work with and that were, um, working together as a team, we're supporting each other, we're helping each other. It's those times that are difficult, um, that are challenging that knowing that I have gone through that, um, giving the best that I possibly can. To me that is a perfect day.
In the next 3-5 years where do you see yourself personally and professionally. Share as many details as you are comfortable with.
Tracey Alba: So in the next few years, where do I see myself professionally in the first few years, um I would want to become really familiar with my position where I'm comfortable. So have a good foundation, educate myself, knowledge, everything that I can so that when that opportunity comes in the, in the next follow in the next few years that I can move up to a position and continue to grow with the company. And personally I see myself um continuing to, I'm train for small races. I look forward to staying here in Saint George and um and just accomplishing and setting personal goals that I have.
Who do you think of for; motivation, inspiration and direction? Why
Tracey Alba: So my motivator and inspirator and person who gives me a good direction would be my husband. He is just the best guy ever to, to lift you up when you're feeling down. And he always has something positive to say. He's always, um listening to affirmations and always working towards being better and always has a way of looking at things um, in a, in a different way and in a different light and he just lifts me up every time he's fun. He's funny. He just wants to have fun in life and he, it's just a joy to be with and I just appreciate him, you know, giving me a different perspective, a different light. Um, when I'm looking at something and he's seen it in a different way and he just brings everything back down to earth for me. So I just deeply appreciate him and, and what he does for me.
What gives you a sense of Purpose?
Tracey Alba: What gives me a sense of purpose is being able to help others and making their lives better. Like that is a sense of purpose, being able to serve somebody else. A sense of purpose is me getting up in the morning and starting my day off with, um, in a positive way that I've done affirmations that I've worked out that I've, I've done these things to mentally and physically prepare myself so that I can give to others. Um, that to me is a sense of purpose.
What does success look like to you?
Tracey Alba: Success to me is accomplishing my goals, accomplishing the things that I've wanted to do and knowing that I've done my very best.
What would be your top 3 book recommendations regardless of genre and why?
Tracey Alba: So the three books that I would recommend is James Claire, The Atomic Habits. I love the fact that he just tells you to do 1% just give your very best and 1% is maybe all that you can do at that time. But that 1% will lead to something um much better and into a positive habit for the rest of your life. The other one is the seven. Um I wrote this down so I wouldn't forget uh Seven Habits of Highly effective People by Stephen R Covey. And the one habit he recommends or says is um seek first to understand then to be understood. And I have applied that in everything in every aspect of my life. Personally, my family, my work, my at church. Um it has helped me greatly with relationships with people to see where they're coming from before I put my thoughts in and I love that. And then the last one is Brian Tracy and I listened to him on youtube, I've read, been reading his book um self-discipline and he challenges you to just to raise the bar, to be a better person to raise the bar to, for your goals and for what you can accomplish and he just puts everything in a positive light and I just love his stories and just, um, he's a funny guy and I just enjoy listening to him.
